Recipes with Honey

 

Honey is sweet – that’s a given. But did you know that honey also adds a special touch to almost any recipe? It’s your secret ingredient with endless possibilities.

Yoghurt with honey and berries

200ml plain youghurt

1 tbls granola or musli

1 tsp our Summer Blossom Honey

1 handful of berries or small grapes

 

Mix together the ingredients and enjoy it for breakfast or just as a healthy snack!

Pumpkin and Heather Honey Spicy Smoothie

1 glass of peach juice

1 glass of orange juice

1 mango

300 gramm of peeled and seedless pumpkin or squash

2 tbsp of our Heather Honey

1 tsp chopped and peeled ginger

You may also add a pinch of chilli or cayenne pepper if you wish!

 

Pour into glasses and sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy! Serves 4

Oven baked apples with walnuts and honey

2 large apples

20 walnut halves

4 tbsp rasins

2 tbsp of our Heather Honey

2 tbsp of our Spring Honey

1 tbsp of cinnamon

4 tbsp glass of brown sugar

50 ml of dark rum or cognac

 

Cut apples into halves, cut all the seeds out and a little bit of apple to make space for other ingredients. Pinch every half with fork, not damaging the peel.

Wash raisins and pour cognac or rum over it and leave to marinate. Crush the walnuts, leaving some to decorate.

Mix raisins, walnuts, honey, sugar and cinnamon and fill apples with it. Put walnut halves on top and sprinkle with sugar.

Pour 1cm of water into your baking tray and place the apple halves in. Put the tray with apples into preheated oven 200C for 30 minutes.

Serves 4. Serve hot or cold.

Enjoy it in a cold winter evening togeather with a cup of warm tea!

 

 

Hot and spicy chicken wings in honey glaze

10 chicken wings

4 tbsp soy souce

2 tbsp our Lime Tree Honey

a pinch of coriander powder

1/2 tsp pepper mix: chili, cayenne, black, white etc. - any you prefer

may add 1/2 tsp of fresh copped chilli if you like it very hot!

 

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, put in washed and dried chicken wings and leave at least for 30 minutes to marinate. 

 

Preheat the oven 180 C, put the wings on cooking paper and cook for 45-50 minutes till golden brown. Perfect to share! Enjoy!

 

Vegetable Salad with Honey and Mustard Souce

For salad:

1 tomato

1/2 cucumber

1 yellow or orange paprika

1/2 red onion

1/2 lettuce

3 celery sticks

For souce:

1 tsp of our Summer Blossom Honey

1 tbsp of Wholegrain Mustard

1 tbsp soy souce

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tbsp of olive oil

Chop all the salad ingredients in big pieces apart from onion (cut it into thin slices). Mix all the souce ingredients in a separate bowl and pour it over salad only straigt before serving. 

Serves 4.

This salad is perfect on its own as a healthy snack or a skinny dinner! Also it tastes wonderful together with oven baked salmon!
